Description
This has been a rainy winter in Arizona. The desert is green these days, and after two years of draught the flowers bloom like madness. This picture was taken a week ago at South Mountain, Phoenix. The high twilight contrast and the use of circular polarizer (B+W) made it very difficult to get a proper exposure. My idea was minimizing the over-exposed area and then tweak the colours with PS (so far my HDR efforts all come out over-exposed).
I like the result, and hope that you will too. Please check links to large version (with more space from the bottom), desaturated version, and two more images of the tree (different angles). Thanks for watching.

Gary, I think you were right about saturation. I reduced it a little now. Thanks for drawing my attention.

I still feel the colors are slightly oversaturated
Great composition and sky

The tree isn't working for me in either composition. Probably would be better to not have it.
I think your shadows could be a bit darker to give you better contrast as well.

The colors there are more realistic i think from the one you posted, and the contrast is less harsh...
Very beautiful shot!

The angle is really great, its giving it a surreal mood, together with those contrasting colors...
Lovely shot

I had a hard time processing this image, probably tried it a dozen times by now. I agree with Michelle that the big version has a better quality, though I hardly sharpened this image, cause it looked worse post than pre-sharpening. I also see anastasia's point about the colours. Putting the two together, I am back to the minimally-processed version. This view speaks for itself as it is.
As always, I appreciate all thoughts and suggestions. Cheers to all!

The different composition has that same lighting and atmosphere, but it adds the tree in a much stronger role and using it in rather appealing manner. The tree also balances out nicely with the mountain to the right, which makes for a strong composition.
