Description

Back in early April I spent 5 hours between 8:00-13:00 at a friend’s backyard, trying to get flight shots of bees. They frequently stop and hover in one place, but only for a 2-3 seconds, making it very difficult to focus and shoot. These are the two best pictures out of 60 that I took that day.

I added links to large versions of both, + a third, bit different picture.

Nicely composed, only wish the focusing in each was sharper. This is quite a difficult scene to not only photograph the bee, but composing it as well.

Thanks, Andrea, Monika.

Andrea, indeed, professional macro photography requires a tripod, a cable, and mirror locking. As an amateur, I just shoot from the hand.

Amazing clarity! I love looking at these creatures, they're really very beautiful and it's just awesome to see them all detailed like this. I prefer the second shot even though the blurred flower in the foreground is a bit distracting
